HAL_Inventory.exe Quick Tutorial

1.) Copy the HAL_Inventory folder from the Common Drive to your thumb drive.

2.) Take the thumb drive to the PC that you are going to swap. Login to the RedboxDesktop on the PC and go into the HAL_Inventory folder on your thumb drive.

3.) Open the HAL_Inventory.exe file. Next, click on the Export Inventory (OLD PC) button. This will create a HAL_Inventory.XML file in the HAL_Inventory on your thumb drive. If the HAL service is not running when you are trying to export the inventory, you will receive an error.

4.) Make sure the HAL_Inventory.XML file is on your thumb drive and swap the PC as normal.

5.) Ensure that the kiosk is fully configured. Make sure that the HAL.XML is copied to the bin folder and that the kiosk has completed its first initialization. Next, go into your thumb drive and open HAL_Inventory.exe again.

6.) Click on the Import Inventory (NEW PC) button. This will import the inventory you exported from the old PC. If the HAL service is not running when you are trying to import the inventory, you will receive an error.

7.) Once the import is complete, you can check the Field Maintenance Application to verify that the inventory was imported.

Thank you for all of your hard work. We appreciate all that you do!

Sincerely,
